Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD)

The OeAD – Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation is the central organization of the Republic of Austria for implementing international academic mobility, cooperation in education, science, and research, and the internationalisation of the Austrian education system. OeAD operates under the mandate of the Austrian Federal Ministry responsible for education, science, and research.

OeAD plays a key role in:

  • Supporting international academic and research cooperation
  • Managing scholarship and mobility programmes
  • Promoting higher education internationalisation
  • Strengthening research partnerships for sustainable development

Within the framework of the KI-WATER Project under the Freshwater Resources and Ecosystems Research Group (FRE-RG), OeAD serves as the implementing agency of the APPEAR Programme, providing strategic oversight, administrative coordination, and quality assurance for the partnership between Kabale University and Austrian institutions, including BOKU University.
