Dr. Jennifer Turyatemba is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Science at Kabale University and serves as the Leader of Community Engagement and Outreach within the Freshwater Resources and Ecosystems Research Group (FRE-RG), as well as Co-Leader of the Climate Variability, Change and Adaptation research theme. She is an experienced interdisciplinary scholar with a strong background in environmental studies, climate change, and sustainable development. Her work focuses on bridging science and society through participatory approaches, promoting community-driven solutions to environmental challenges, and strengthening climate adaptation strategies. Dr. Turyatemba has extensive expertise in climate change adaptation and mitigation, carbon management, and sustainable livelihoods, with a particular interest in integrating local knowledge into research and policy processes. She plays a key role in advancing outreach initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and capacity-building programmes that enhance resilience among communities in Uganda’s highland ecosystems.
