Dr. Alex Saturday is an accomplished Environmental Scientist and Hydrologist serving as the Team Leader of the Freshwater Resources and Ecosystems Research Group (FRE-RG) and Coordinator for the Catchment Hydrology and Aquatic Ecosystems research themes. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Sciences at Kabale University, where he combines teaching, research, and field-based training. His work focuses on hydrological processes, water quality assessment, and the impacts of land-use change on freshwater systems, with particular emphasis on tropical highland environments. Dr. Saturday applies an interdisciplinary and systems-based approach to develop evidence-based solutions for sustainable water resource management, ecosystem restoration, and climate resilience. He is actively involved in collaborative research projects and capacity-building initiatives that strengthen scientific understanding and support policy and community-level interventions in water and environmental management.
